Italian dub techno producer Decoside compiles his ‘Reload’ singles project into a stunning double CD release featuring a host of respected remixers…
Decoside’s Reload project began in 2008 with the first of three vinyl releases that were to explore the deeper, dub infused end of techno. The releases were mastered by Decoside’s good friend, the late Aaron Carl and were a musical link between the classic sounds of Detroit & early 90’s Berlin and the new wave in deep experimental techno.
Now Decoside and Italian label Eclipse Music have worked together to compile a double CD album release featuring all of the original tracks from the vinyl releases, plus unreleased material and a host of outstanding remixes from some of the best names in techno.
Disc one is made up of the six original Reload recordings as well as the Decoside classic ‘Disorder’. Reload 1 & 2 show Decoside’s dubbier, ambient side with rich textures and powerful chords running thoughout. Parts 3 & 4 take a more dancefloor orientated turn with an evolution of sound that still stays true to the producers underground sensibilities and the final chapter of Reload 5 & 6
experiments with tribal elements fused into the intense drum programming. ‘Disorder’ appears in it’s original form as well as two remixed version, the first by The Nautilus Project who deliver an emotional soundscape of sub marine inspired ambience and the second Fluxion’s wonderfully dark & hypnotic re-interpretation.
Disc two sees the Reload project handed over to the great and good for a host of remixes that show Decoside’s work through the eyes of others. The collection moves from the deep techno offerings of Matt Thibideau, P.Laoss and Havantepe, through the classic sounds of The Echologist, Edanticonf and Najem Sworb who aim more squarely for the dancefloor and on to the dubby ambient sounds and
dub experiments of Atheus, Martin Schulte & passenger. This is undoubtedly an outstanding collection of techno and electronica from an artist and label who have played a key part in the scene over the last 4 years, enjoy.

For the last 20 years, Matt Thibideau has been involved in making electronic music.
He started off with his Moog Prodigy, a 4 track, and a drum machine. Matt dove into making electronic, industrial pop songs in 1989-1990. His basement soon became the  place where he and his twin brother Mark would start their first project called the  Waxbean Orchard. This was all in a small town called “Wallaceburg” Ontario (located  close the American border not far from Detroit).
Over time Matt’s interest in electronic music grew and he relocated to Toronto where  his chances of releasing records & amp performing grew. He dove into making ambient and techno music after experiencing some of the local underground parties.  This lead to several releases on Blue Recordings in the mid to late 90’s. Matt’s monikor at the time was “Altitude”. This started a chain reaction of working with other local  labels such as Chair and Cynosure Recordings.  Matt was also performing with the likes of Jeremy Caulfield, Mike Shannon, Adam  Marshal, Jeff Milligan, Mike Huckaby, Ritchie Hawtin, Akufen and Peter Grove.
He and Mark started working on a new project called “Repair” in 2001. It was  dedicated to all of the old broken synthesizers that they had in their studio. This was quickly signed to both Sub-Static Records (Germany) as “V-Wreck” and Dumb-Unit  Records (Canada at that time) as “Blackline Display”.  Matt followed up this project with solo releases on Cynosure and Sub-Static Recordsv around 2003.
He has performed live at several venues and festivals and does not use a laptop to do  so. Venues such as Mutek (Montreal), C.O. Pop Festival (Cologne), Observatori  (Valencia), Bunker (NYC), Break & Enter (Toronto), Tempo (Toronto), Watergate  (Berlin) and Oslo (Detroit) have welcomed his live performances.
Currently Matt has completed a record for Deep Data (Berlin) that focuses on a  special instrument called the “Synclavier”. Matt (along with some friends) also started  a small label called “Obsolete Components” based on using his old synthesizers. He has released his “Archive 1″ record (a series of older unreleased tracks) with Obsolete Components.

Matt utilizes his old synthesizers and drum machines to realize his inspiration for new sounds and ideas.  His love for these vintage instruments gets incorporated into all of his projects.

Dal tardo latino “syzygia”, dal greco syzygía (συζυγíα), unione o congiunzione, derivato di sýzygos (σύζυγος), aggiogato o accoppiato, composto di sýn (σύν), insieme, e zygón (ζυγόν), giogo.
Spesso usato al plurale per indicare le posizioni dell’orbita della Luna in cui questa si trova in congiunzione o in opposizione al Sole e alla Terra. Può anche riferirsi in senso più ampio ad analoghe configurazioni d’altri corpi celesti.

“syzygy” è il risultato dei percorsi musicali che hanno segnato la formazione creativa degli artisti coinvolti nel progetto “eclipse” e che per una serie di circostanze del tutto casuali si sono trovati sotto il segno di una unica filosofia: il suono visto come mezzo di esplorazione dell’ignoto.
“syzygy” è la colonna sonora di quello che la nostra immaginazione fatica ad elaborare, un esperienza auditiva che sorvola i generi musicali e che punta ben oltre a quello che i nostri occhi possono vedere. non è un caso che sia stato scelto lo spazio come fonte di ispirazione.
l’intento non è stato quello di fare una compilation di musica techno o ambient, non sono state dettate linee guida e tanto meno restrizioni di stile.
“syzygy” è una raccolta di ispirazioni personali di un numero di artisti che hanno dato un loro contributo sonoro, ed è semplicemente fantastico sentire come l’insieme delle tracce regali un risultato omogeneo, un suono profondo ed emozionale nato da un’unione di intenti.
Una sequenza di elementi allineati in perfetto asse nel tentativo di regalare una visione di incanto.

Opilec Music brings to us the first ever remix album of San Francisco’s cult synthesizer-punk legends, The UNITS! One of America’s first synthesizer bands and pioneers of a genre now known as “synthpunk”, The Units were notable for their use of synthesizers in place of guitars, and multimedia performances featuring multiple projections of satirical, instructional films critical of conformity and consumerism … predating MTV and 25 years before the birth of YouTube!
This is a definitive collection of over 24 of the band’s original songs written between 1977 and 1984 and remixed for the dance floor in 2010 by a renowned and international cast of over 40 DJs, producers and bands active in the contemporary club scene. This project celebrates the futuristic Units along with the innovative DJs that first played them. Like COSMIC DISCO pioneer Daniele Baldelli, who remixed early 7” Units records “live” on the dance floor as early as 1979, Electro ITALO DISCO pioneers and contemporaries of The Units, like Klein & M.B.O., N.O.I.A. and Alexander Robotnick, along with Nu-Disco and contemporary club scene trend setters like Gianluca Pandullo of I-Robots and Nemesi …
